Double-Cap Rivets
Double-cap rivets make it easy to add leather straps to your bag without having to sew it! One double-cap rivet consists of two pieces: a post and a cap. The easiest way to set is with a metal hammer on a hard surface. Alternatively, you could use a double-cap rivet setter tool with a mallet on a hard surface. The setter has a concave end that preserves the roundness of the rivet cap.
- Small = 1/4" (Cap Diameter: 7mm, Post Length: 7.3mm)
- Medium = 5/16" (Cap Diameter: 9mm, Post Length: 8.1mm)
- Large = 7/16" (Cap Diameter: 9mm, Post Length: 10.2mm)

What size rivets should I use?
Pairing leather weight and rivet post length correctly is crucial for a strong set and to avoid crooked rivets! As a rule of thumb, rivet posts should extend slightly above (1/16"ā1/8") the bulk of your work.
